What are the different tools on KeepTheScore?

What is the difference between a leaderboard, a scoreboard and a click-counter on Keepthescore.com. All tools are explained here

Leaderboards

A leaderboard is a ranking of participants in a competition or event based on their scores or performance. Leaderboards are often used in video games, sports tournaments, and online contests to show the current standings of players or teams. They can also be used to track progress or achievement in other contexts, such as fitness challenges or academic competitions.

Use a leaderboard when you just care about who has the highest (or lowest!) score. This is probably the best multi-purpose score-keeper. To see all available templates, click here.

Basketball scoreboard in a browser

With this online scoreboard you don’t need expensive equipment to display the scores. All you need is a laptop and a projector or a big screen to display the score and measure the time. The web-based online scoreboard can be customized for many different sports.

This scoreboard requires 2 devices: one to control the scoreboard, the other to display the scoreboard. You can share the scoreboard online and it will update in real time.

Scoresheets with rounds

A scoresheet is a table used to record scores, points, or other data related to a game or competition. scoresheets can be used by scorekeepers, referees, or other officials to keep track of the progress of a game.

A scoresheet is a good choice if you want to track changes over time (e.g. who won at squash over a series of weeks). They are useful when you want to have a structured breakdown of how a score for a player (or team) came about, for instance when you have multiple disciplines in a competition.

Team leaderboards

Team leaderboards are for situations where you have teams composed of individuals, and you care about the overall team score as well as the score of the individuals.

💡 Please note:

  • If you only have one player per team, you should use a leaderboard instead.
  • If you don't care about individual player scores and just care about the score of the team, you should use a leaderboard instead.

Click or tally counters

This is the simplest type of scorekeeper. Use click counters when you need to count (tally) one or more things, for example people in a shop or room, repetitions, glasses of water drunk, tasks completed, etc.

Score overlays for esports

An esports score overlay is a graphic display, usually at the top or bottom of the screen during a livestream or recording of an esports game. This overlay provides real-time data and stats about the ongoing match.
